This place was the ancient Arima Highway.
Since modern roads were built about 100 years ago,
people have stopped passing through this area, but
at that time it was a horse-drawn road and there was a lot of foot traffic. I guess it was.
Even now, that smell and memory are imprinted on it, and
huge trees, mainly deciduous trees, cover it as a canopy, creating a quiet and solemn atmosphere.
And in this place there is a large camellia tree.
It's a large tree, so even when it has flowers, it's higher up than people's eye level, so
it's hard to notice, but
when the flowers fall, the bright red color that appears on the road is truly beautiful.

Rather than the flowers that fall reluctantly, as if to leave behind a heart, the way the camellia flowers gracefully fall is more spectacular.
However, there are years when it produces beautiful flowers and
years when it does not produce many flowers.
It bloomed well this year.

You don't need loud music or flashy artwork.
I know that the red of this camellia is the most vivid color and art in this forest.
The beautiful colors of Japan are not limited to the cherry blossoms that bloom in spring.

I keep photographing the same scenery while growing this forest, like a fixed-point observation.
Through this project, we would like to share everything about how the same landscape changes,
what it was like in the past, and how it will be connected in the future.
I want to continue to follow the changes in the same scenery,
and
convey the beauty of changing scenery.
When summer comes, Genji fireflies fly and
a mysterious landscape appears.

We applied our own sensibilities to the “Gengo Forest” that we own

live and observe it in the landscape you created,
observe from a fixed point. In this way,
as the seasons change, the symbolic scenery that appears each time
is recorded and turned into a work. I am.

This may be the opposite of the common method of looking for beautiful scenery and taking pictures while traveling.


Taking a lot of time and effort while interacting with the forest,
the photograph is finally completed.
The end I think it's just a result of.
Photography is just a method of expression,
After more than 10 years of effort, it finally appears.
I believe that the scenery itself is the work itself
.

It takes a long time to create each photo.
The purpose of the photo is completely different from the one that shows a collection of quiet and spectacular views from around the world, but
Certain acts and prayers themselves are sources of beauty, and
I have been guided and overwhelmed by their power many times.

It's not a flashy scenery, it's all
